Here’s the October 1991 issue of Video Games & Computer Entertainment magazine, with a large part of the front cover torn off during mailing. Other than some damage on the first few pages, the magazine is intact and readable. Highlights include the introduction to the Super NES, and the 10-year anniversary of the Game Doctor, the Q&A section of the magazine. I had forgotten that this was my favorite section and that I would always check it first before reading from the beginning.
It may be possible to “restore” the first few pages of this magazine. I didn’t see any in the September 1991 issue, but there may be identical ads in the October 1991 or later issues to replace the damaged ads. As for the cover, there is an image floating around on the internet, and it should be easy to find via Google. The reason I’m not linking to it is that it’s from a site that scans old gaming magazines, but then hides them behind a sign-in. IMHO, this is counter to preservation and counter to the spirit of the internet, and I do not wish to support a site that does this.
