My name is Jonathan Young, a 30-something Chinese American who resides in the San Francisco Bay Area. My family moved to this area from Hong Kong when I was ten years old. I now consider both San Francisco and Hong Kong my hometowns.
As a first generation immigrant who has mostly assimilated to American culture, I offer a unique perspective on American and Chinese culture, and various other subjects. On this website I (try to) write about topics that interest, provoke, or infuriate me.
My father died when I was 18 years old but he lives on in the books and articles that he authored during his lifetime. As I often contemplate my mortality, I thought about what I could do to leave my mark on the world. I hope that some of the things I author on this site will be left behind when it is my turn to depart.
Previously, this website was a collection of computer-related articles. They are still here, and I will continue adding articles as I discover new topics.

Welcome to Jonathan Young’s Computer Site. I created this site as a means for me to reinforce what I have learned about computers. By using a hands-on approach and then recording the results, I can learn things better than just reading about them in a book. At the same time, I wanted to be able to help others, and possibly receive feedback, which is why this site is posted online and not just on my own computer. Feel free to browse through my articles and guides, and contact me if you have any comments, questions, or suggestions. This is not a professional site nor is it meant to be one. However, I do hope that you can find whatever you are looking for on this site. Thank you for visiting, and have fun!
You’ve found my place!
Thank you for visiting this homepage. I have spent a lot of time putting it up for all to enjoy. Although there isn’t much here, what is here will tell you a lot about what kind of person I am. Please enjoy your stay and if you have any questions or comments, be sure to sign the guestbook or write me an e-mail. Thanks!
P.S. A lot of these “entries” are actually taken off of my AsianAvenue.com page, since the stupid site has a limit on how much text I can post. So, if you want to see the most up-to-date entries, just go to my page, linked here.
