After a short break, tonight we have the July 1992 issue of Video Games & Computer Entertainment. Physically, this issue seemed to be in pretty good condition, but after the initial scan there were artifacts everywhere. I probably had to re-scan half the magazine; what a nightmare!
It would seem that the 16-bit wars are starting to heat up. If I’m not mistaken, this is the first issue with a cross-platform review (Krusty’s Super Fun House for both the SNES and Sega Genesis). In the Reader Mail section, there is a letter from a defensive SNES owner.
For me personally, I had just finished my first year of high school, and about to venture to the dark side, as Street Fighter II was coming out for the SNES. Up until this point, it was always “Genesis does what Nintendon’t”, but not anymore.
As always, hope you enjoy this museum post.
